Matrix Kratom is a headshop brand vendor that’s manufactured in Las Vegas, NV. Interestingly, there doesn’t appear to be a website that uses any part of the Matrix Kratom name in their domain. Instead, you’ll find a lot of smaller online vendors and headshops promoting this brand.
Choosing to buy Kratom from a smoke shop or headshop vendor is always a risk. It becomes even riskier when there’s little to no information available about the products in question. After doing a lot of digging, we found that Netshops USA lists themselves as the primary distributor for this vendor. They offer general retail and wholesale options.
This headshop brand keeps things very simple. They have four strains available, sold in powder and capsules. Powder packages come in 20g, 50g and 200g. Capsules come in 20-count and 50-count packages. There are also a few specialty options, which you can see listed below.
Because they’re a headshop brand, prices for Matrix Kratom’s products can vary widely from region to region. If you buy their products online from Netshops USA, though, you can expect to pay $10 for 20g of powder, $16 for 50g, and $60 for 200g. If you prefer capsules, you can grab a 20-count package for $8 or a 50-count pack for $16. Alternatively, Matrix offers 150-count packs with 100 percent organic Kratom for $30. Kava is also on the menu, with 20 capsules costing $10.
Matrix also claims to sell “the most powerful Kratom shot available” with their Red Vein Liquid Tincture, priced at $18 for 7 ml.
As a headshop brand without their own dedicated website, there’s no way for this vendor to provide coupon codes. Netshops USA doesn’t currently have any coupon codes available either. Your best bet is to watch for items to go on sale (for example, Red Vein Liquid Tincture is on sale via Netshops USA for $12 as of late January 2020).
Surprisingly, there are some Reddit forum members who have a high opinion of Matrix Kratom’s products. In one thread, both respondents to a question about this brand had something positive to say. “It’s really good. Expensive…but it’s been strong as [email protected]*k. The Green MD and Red Thai are wonderful.” The other Redditor in this thread said, “Yea, those are good.”
A second thread about the best headshop brands indicates that Matrix is “reasonably decent.” We did find two Mitragyna speciosa enthusiasts on the third thread who weren’t impressed, though. “Matrix is [email protected],” said the first. “Yeah, it didn’t do sh!t,” said the other.
It’s hard to know anything about the customer service of a vendor that doesn’t make itself available for questions or issues. Netshops USA doesn’t accept Kratom returns due to “the volatility surrounding” it.
In 2017, Health Canada initiated a recall on Matrix Kratom products that were being sold illegally in Alberta, Nova Scotia, and British Columbia.
With the support for Matrix over on Reddit, we might consider trying this product if we were in a pinch and found it at a local headshop. However, the complete lack of transparency about these products, including where they’re sourced from and if they’re tested, would still make us think twice. In a situation like this, it’s always better to choose Kratom from a vendor or brand you already know.
