Lone Wolf Kratom Review: Is This Headshop Brand Worth Your Time (and Money)?

lone wolf kratom: is this headshop brand worth your time (and money)?

You’ve heard about it on Reddit. You’ve likely breezed past a display at your local headshop. Lone Wolf Kratom has been around for years, but you may not have realized it.

After a recent relaunch, the brand has taken a dip in the public interest. Today, we’ll catch you up on where this brand is at and what you need to know about its kratom powder and kratom capsules. Find out everything you need to know in our Lone Wolf Kratom review.

What is Lone Wolf Kratom?

Lone Wolf Kratom is a Colorado kratom brand that purports to sell fresh, pure, and ethically-sourced Mitragyna speciosa products. Despite what its misleading Facebook page might have you believe, Lone Wolf Kratom is not a vendor in its own right. Rather, it is a product of RGR Canada, Inc.

Lone Wolf Kratom LLC was registered in Aurora, CO, in 2018. However, this entity appears to exist under the umbrella of RGR Canada, a Calgary, Alberta, manufacturer. Confused yet? So were we, which is why we looked into the matter further and discovered that RGR Canada, Inc. is considered one of Canada’s largest wholesalers of vaporizers and smoking accessories.

As is often the case with large wholesale/distribution companies, there is such a glut of products in their collection that regulations are invariably overlooked. Sometimes, a kratom wholesaler may even run afoul of the law (or proper health/safety measures) without even realizing it. More on this in a moment.

It is important to remember that wholesalers don’t always manufacture their own products. We always like to give these guys the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, in the case of RGR Canada, Inc., we cannot. There is evidence that points to the company being a producer in addition to a distributor.

Therefore, this Calgary company is responsible for any product that leaves its warehouses, whether it leaves facilities in Canada or Littleton, CO. This was the case with its Medicine Man line, which included Medicine Man Green Malay and Medicine Man White Vein Maeng Da.

It also includes all of its current Medicine Man Lone Wolf Kratom products, such as kratom powder and kratom capsules. These products have received big ups from select members of the Reddit community, but their precise applications and credentials remain a mystery.

Lone Wolf Kratom is not a participant in the AKA’s GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Standards Program, nor does it disclose certificates of analysis on any website. There is no concrete evidence of its self-professed laboratory testing.

More alarmingly, the company’s accountability for its kratom products is murky. There are several subsidiaries of RGR Canada, Inc., including High Tide, Canna Cabana, and Lone Wolf Kratom LLC.

If you’ve been wondering where you can buy Lone Wolf Kratom, it is widely available across the Internet. Sites like Buy Kratom Extracts, Mr. Nice Guy’s Glass, and Free River Distributing carry this brand’s products. You may also find this kratom powder at your neighborhood paraphernalia shop.

Why the Name Change?

We cannot determine to our satisfaction why RGR Canada’s Medicine Man was rebranded, but we were alerted to a Newswire advisory from 2017, wherein Health Canada advised area residents that the manufacturer was voluntarily recalling unauthorized Medicine Man kratom capsules. Issues with kratom legality and governmental oversight can often play a role in a brand’s dissolution.

What Does It Have to Offer?

This brand appears to offer one kratom strain and one kratom strain only—Maeng Da Kratom. Many kratom users would balk at the lack of variety, but true kratom connoisseurs know that strain names aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. The only thing that truly matters is vein color.

Most vendors, even those who offer a limited variety, typically offer kratom powder in green, red, and white vein variations. Alas, Medicine Man Lone Wolf Kratom is available exclusively in white veins. This alienates a sizable demographic of kratom consumers, many of whom prefer the invigorating aroma of greens to the soothing aroma of reds and whites.

What It Costs and How It Compares

Prices vary from retailer to retailer, with prices especially high at brick-and-mortar establishments (no surprise there). The same is true online, where the cost of Lone Wolf Kratom Capsules can range from $12.99 to $16.99, depending on your source. Payless Kratom appears to be the most reasonable.

Where Buy Kratom Extracts charges $12.99 for a 25-count pouch of kratom caps, Payless Kratom charges $16.59 for a 150-count bottle of the same. However, these prices could be better. For the sake of comparison, Pure Leaf Kratom charges $24.95 for a 200-count of Maeng Da Kratom Capsule.

Lone Wolf Kratom Customer Reviews

Reactions to this brand have been as divisive as the information about the company itself. One Reddit member reported a positive overall experience but noted the “wired” aroma. Another member lamented the expensive price, while a third called it one of their favorites.

“I think it’s the best white vein that Gaia carries,” said another. Elsewhere, a member said, “I really liked it up until I found the cheaper just as good online world…Medicine Man Lone Wolf was always consistent with Kratom with a good…experience. Just waaaay overpriced.”

MIT45

If you’d prefer to purchase a more reputable brand, MIT45 Kratom is the place to start. This groundbreaking GMP-certified producer is the crème de la crème of headshop brands. MIT45 is a Utah-based business that specializes in Mitragynine-dominant kratom capsules and kratom extracts.

This trailblazing vendor is as affordable as it is inventive, turning out products that pick you up without leaving you dead broke. Its one-of-a-kind MIT Go Black Extra Strength is a flavorful mix of honey, kratom extract, and kratom potentiators in a squeezable pouch, which sells for just $11.95 per pouch.

New Dawn Kratom

If you’re looking to buy kratom in Colorado (or anywhere, really), New Dawn Kratom is the way to go. This kratom supplier provides a satisfying line of kratom strains at fair market prices. While it lacks the kratom extracts that have put MIT45 on the map, it can go toe to toe with the former’s raw leaf.

New Dawn provides access to Bali Kratom and Maeng Da in variations of green, red, white, and yellow. It sells two-way split kilos for $80 and four-way splits for $85.00, which is less than the industry low for a standard kratom kilo. Customers who spend $39.99 or more get free shipping.

Bottom Line

In summary, Lone Wolf Kratom is an overpriced brand with a lack of discernible credentials. While some patrons have enjoyed their premium kratom, others have expressed their distaste online. Based on our research, we would not qualify Lone Wolf as a brand worthy of its high price.
