Mr Botanicals may well be the oldest kratom vendor operating in the world. This Netherlands-based kratom vendor has been in business for nearly twenty years, easily outpacing its North American competitors.
As an international supplier, Mr Botanicals Kratom serves Europe, America, and beyond. Simplicity is key to its success—by limiting the number of kratom strains in its catalog it has avoided the scrutiny that domestic brands typically attract.
In spite of its success and longevity, Mr Botanicals has experienced some setbacks, of late. If you are thinking about buying from this European supplier, you’ll want to read on for our comprehensive vendor review.
Mr Botanicals Kratom is an Amsterdam kratom vendor with offices in northwestern Europe. It was founded in 2002 for the express purpose of offering customers access to exotic herbs and live kratom plants.
This vendor provides free, insured worldwide shipping with tracking information and a range of special offers for first-time patrons. It gained much of its reputation for sourcing ethnobotanicals that other brands could not, including African Dream Herb, Ayahuasca, Kanna, and Psychotria viridis (Chacruna).
Although it has long remained a prominent brand in the Netherlands it never quite gained consumer recognition in the States. This likely owes to its location and privacy-conscious approach to the industry.
Mr Botanicals offers discreet shipments that are free of any labeling whatsoever. As such, American buyers receive a package that cannot be identified as containing kratom.
As we mentioned above, Mr Botanicals has succeeded at flying under the radar thanks to the limitations of its kratom product line and the low-tech nature of its online store. Unfortunately, this brand has encountered problems just like any other.
As of this writing, Mr Botanicals’ homepage reads, “Sorry, our shop is closed, but you can purchase the same plants at Waking Herbs’ store by clicking here.”
There’s only one problem with this: wakingherbs.com doesn’t carry any kratom products.
Mr Botanicals Kratom only stocks two strains in three vein colors—Borneo and Maeng Da, respectively. You can get Green Borneo, Red Borneo, White Borneo, or a Maeng Da Kratom blend (Green, Red & White).
While each of these kratom powders has its charms, the pricing will turn many consumers off. For starters, Mr Botanicals does not give newcomers a chance to sample its wares before ordering in bulk.
Not only is this not a small-batch kratom seller but it is quite expensive for a bulk kratom vendor. For example, Green Vein Borneo typically sells for less than Maeng Da, but here the entire product line is priced the same.
More alarmingly, kratom kilos start at $190, which is at least $70 more than the industry standard $120.00 for one thousand grams.
Some patrons will be pleased to learn that Mr Botanicals sells kilo bundles, but their smiles will likely droop when they see how cost-prohibitive those bundles are. Most bulk vendors provide multiple kilos at a substantial discount, but this vendor appears to charge roughly the same steep price for each additional kilogram.
You can get three kilos for $480, five kilos for $760, or ten kilos for $1,350.00. That’s a lot of scratch for a comparatively small amount of powder.
To put this into perspective, you’ll be paying sixteen cents per gram if you purchase three kilos. Alternatively, you’ll be paying nearly fourteen cents per gram if you purchase ten kilos.
Historically, you could pay for your order by bank transfer, credit/debit card, or money order. Sadly, this is not the case at the moment.
For the time being, Mr Botanicals Kratom is closed for business. Customers are encouraged to order from Waking Herbs instead.
The aforementioned shop gives buyers a plethora of payment options, but there are no kratom powders or kratom capsules in its current inventory.
Waking Herbs’ payment methods include Bitcoin, GiroPay, iDeal, MoneyGram, MyBank, Postepay, and Western Union.
Mr Botanicals delivers free worldwide shipping on every purchase you make. Every order comes with insurance and tracking information, so you’ll be able to rest easy, knowing your package will arrive as expected.
All orders are processed and shipped within two business days, with many orders shipped in under twenty-four hours. Items come in plain, discreet packaging.
This vendor stands by the quality of its product. If you aren’t 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can request a return and receive a full refund.
Even though reviews are somewhat scarce, we were able to find a couple where it counts the most. A number of Mr Botanicals Reddit posts vouched for this brand, with one member writing, “I’ve bought from them before and they’re legit.”
Over at I Love Kratom, a member said, “Overall quality is pretty good. It’s about as effective per gram as the smaller amounts I’ve been buying form mmmSpceiosa (my preferred vendor). It’s not quite as finely sifted, though that doesn’t seem to affect the quality.”
Regrettably that appears to be the extent of its consumer reputation; the brand lacks a significant following on social media and rarely posts anything of substance. Furthermore, Mr Botanicals lacks a presence on the retail circuit.
Mr Botanicals seems to have quality Kratom. The problem is, it charges way too much for it to be cost-effective. Your better bet would be to get a kilo from inside the US, but if you do decide to purchase from Mr Botanicals, you’re going to wait about 15-20 days, on average, for your package.
