Florida is on the cutting edge of many industries, including aviation, consumer goods and services, finance, and more, and Mitrascience is no exception. Since 2015, this Tampa-based company has been at the forefront of the wholesale kratom marketplace, offering bulk kratom powder that has met its rigorous standards of purity and potency.
Mitra Science has said that it ensures consistent quality by employing a variety of tests and procedures, but exactly what are these procedures? And is it really as legit as it all sounds? We will answer all of this and more in our comprehensive Mitrascience Vendor Review.
Mitrascience differs from other kratom companies in that it is comprised of a network of artists, entrepreneurs, farmers, researchers, and scientists who work in tandem to procure high-quality wholesale kratom powder. The staff at Mitra Science know their Mitragyna speciosa (hence, the name), which is why its kratom products are continually ranked among the top bulk kratom options in the domestic marketplace.
Mitrascience has received hundreds of likes and follows across social media, and it has demonstrated the bare minimum of transparency necessary to be taken seriously by forum members. This is a lab-approved brand with some good deals and great items. The serious kratom aficicionado will find much interest in its e-commerce site (www.mitrascience.com).
On the downside, there are some aspects of Mitrascience that give us pause, including its suspicious background. According to Mitrascience, the company is located in Tampa, FL, but its website is registered in Austin, TX, with servers in Chicago, IL, and Los Angeles, CA. Elsewhere, we found Mitrascience’s service area listed as Helena, MT.
While it isn’t uncommon for a company to register itself as a business in one state before moving to another it is a bit strange that Mitrascience has never been forthcoming about its origins. On the contrary, the company is set up as a Limited Liability Company in the state of Florida and its headquarters are listed in Largo, FL.
Fundamental sketchiness aside, Mitrascience has established itself as an international player, forging a close relationship with Tradekey.com, a site that enables businesses and entrepreneurs to approach global trade by browsing over nine million worldwide businesses.
It’s packaging also leaves something to be desired; the thin, flimsy silver-gray pouches it comes in are made of seemingly cheap material, and the stickers identifying each strain easily peel off or bunch up, obscuring the details of the strain in question. We find this brand’s packaging to be unwieldy and unprofessional.
On a more positive and reassuring note, Mitrascience is listed as an Approved Vendor at I Love Kratom. Its consumer reputation is also well-established on online kratom forums, including Reddit. This vendor displays strong social media engagement on popular platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter.
Mitrascience is one of a select number of domestic vendors offering live kratom plants, something that is increasingly rare in today’s market. These specimens are four to six-inch live Mitragyna speciosa trees and come directly from Mitrascience’s own greenhouse. The company’s live kratom plants product page features detailed instructions for care that you are unlikely to find anywhere else. We are talking about seven long paragraphs describing the step-by-step process for keeping your plant healthy.
Mitrascience’s prices are comparable to others in the industry, particularly its fellow Americans. It offers prices tailored to individual consumers as well as wholesale retailers. These prices vary from product to product. Mitrascience stocks plain leaf powder, crushed leaf kratom, kratom extracts, live plants, and the seeds of the Mitragyna speciosa herb.
This vendor carries Green Bali, Green Borneo, Green Horn, Green Maeng Da, Green Malay, Krat Thom Kok (Mitragyna Hirsuta), Kra Thom Na (Mitragyna Javanica), Mitragyna parvifolia, Red Bali, Red Borneo, Red Horn, Red Maeng Da, Red Malay, White Bali, White Borneo, White Horn, White Maeng Da, Yellow Maeng Da, and Yellow Vietnam.
As we mentioned earlier, Mitrascience has strong consumer recognition, with nearly one thousand likes on Facebook alone. Although it lacks the flawless reputation of Mitragaia and others who came before it, this Tampa supplier has its fair share of community support. Many who have turned to this company in a pinch end up sticking by it.
Items are shipped via UPS and USPS (United States Postal Service), with expedited shipping options available for an additional see. Shipping typically takes three business days, depending on your location. Orders are processed quickly and generally ship within twenty-four hours.
Quality is, of course, a subjective matter, but we think it bears mentioning that Mitrascience’s color does not reflect high quality, nor does the clumpiness of its powder. Most organic green vein kratom powder has a pale green, almost tawny hue, a yellowish green that suggests the inside of a lime or a patch of wild vegetation. Instead, Mitrascience’s green veins resemble nothing so much as dirt. This may be off-putting to some, but the overall quality of this brand is well-documented.
This vendor is in a very exclusive camp when it comes to pricing; there are maybe five companies that even come close to Mitrascience’s consumer incentive technique. To wit: this supplier significantly drops its price on bulk kratom powder with orders of multiple kratom kilos. If you buy one kilo, you’ll pay $85, but if you purchase ten kilos you will only pay $65 per kilo. Those who buy a whopping one hundred kilos will only pay $40.00. These are outstanding price points deserving of celebration, but they may also be deserving of a raised eyebrow.
Not only is its base price ($85) cheaper than the industry norm (roughly $120 per kilo), but it is more affordable than some of the top-ranking bulk kratom suppliers offering volume online. For the sake of comparison, Mount Kratom charges $94.99 for a four-way split kilo, while 99kratom.com honors its name by delivering kratom kilos for $99 a pop. It is only Bulk Kratom Now that offers quality kilos for less than Mitrascience ($79.99), but even this industry giant does not offer deep discounts on bundles.
Mitrascience currently accepts all major credit/debit cards, as well as bank transfers and eCheck. Alas, cryptocurrencies do not appear to be accepted at this time. To inquire about alternative payment options, contact email@example.com or speak to a live representative at (347)-486-4972.
Consumers have been split in their opinions of Mitrascience’s value, but most tend to share an affinity for this brand. One Reddit member remembered fondly their initial experience, writing, “That’s where I bought my first sampler. That white MD was a life changer, it made me believe in kratom and respect it.”
Another member said, “The White is extremely fresh & quality is noticeably better than my go-to vendor. The Green is also very fresh & as good as most vendors I have tried.” Elsewhere, a member wrote, “I can speak on behalf of Mitra science as well. I was going through all of my old packages and found a bunch from them. I had forgotten about them since I think it was during a phase where I wanted to try all different vendors’ products. But they definitely were among my favorite. Up there with Gaia and MMMSpec (before I realized they bend you over backward on pricing).”
Still, another member said, “This has been my go-to vendor for a long time and they seem to keep reducing their prices right now.” Meanwhile, another former customer wrote, “
A common lament among patrons appears to be its delays and packaging. One customer noted the aforementioned pouches, writing, “When kratom gets banned we can thank this vendor. Seriously? This is scary sh*t..”
Another member wrote, “Potency is always a hit or miss. It would be best to buy 3-4 different bags so you can be sure you will get a couple of good batches.” Elsewhere, a customer said, “I sent these people three emails over the last two weeks and could not get them to respond so even if the ban gets squashed they won’t see any of my business going forward.”
Yes. Mitrascience’s kratom is purportedly tested in Mitrascience’s own laboratory, though the results of these tests are not made available. The company claims to evaluate its specimens chemically, physically, and microbiologically. Organoleptic analysis is also purportedly conducted, but again, no certificates of analysis are presented. On the contrary, Mitrascience is even forthcoming about the fact that some tests are not performed if they are deemed unnecessary.
We have our reservations about this brand and question its true legitimacy. Without certification from an independent third-party laboratory, we hesitate to confirm Mitrascience’s so-called purity. Its products give us pause, while its prices seem conspicuously low.
One can tell a lot about a company’s legitimacy by looking at the reputation it has earned among its clients. Though some have sung Mitrascience’s praises, many have found its practices dubious. The company’s refusal to share vital data comes off as suspicious in an age of clarity such as ours.
This vendor does not participate in the AKA’s ever-more-common GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) program. This is disconcerting as it is the last conceivable way Mitascience could demonstrate a willingness to be transparent. The GMP program enables kratom processors to prove their legitimacy – and purity – by submitting to a voluntary third-party audit.
The GMP program was set up to protect customers while holding the industry accountable. Without participation in said program or disclosure of lab results, it is impossible for a vendor to show proof that it’s legit.
In summary, Mitrascience is a generally well-reviewed bulk kratom brand with its fair share of alluring items. However, its scarcity of industry credentials prevents us from recommending it to others. This is one Florida kratom vendor that should stop staring at the sun and start workshopping a new approach.
